Oh wow. :D

So as I was rummaging around my crafty supplies looking for needles, I found my chainmail. Now, I went through my chainmail phase years ago, and haven't touched the stuff in ages. But I started pulling things out of the mass of rings-- strips of mail, half-finished hand triangle thingies, little hexagonal bits-- and thought "Hey, maybe I can sell these at EC (the occult store)."

I sat down last night and put a bunch of little pieces together into things-- took some stuff apart and turned it into bracelets, necklaces, wristcuffs. I had a finished headpiece I'd made for myself ages ago, and never wore. Today I took it into EC, and they loved it. So it's not sold yet, but hopefully people will see it and want to spend money on pretty things. Because they really are pretty. I'm good at that.

I'm going to keep up the chainmail till I use up all my links. I have some chrome left, and a lot of brass. Next up is a bellydance belt, which is currently just chainmail, but will end up with amethyst and moonstone beads AND chain fringe. Yes, I have a ton of decorative chain as well. :) Amethyst, moonstone, aquamarine and malachite beads are being purchased for a song on eBay. This will be so gorgeous. The aquamarine and malachite will go with the brass rings. Not together. :)

I didn't get any pictures of the stuff I turned in already, but if I remember, I'll go there with a camera and get the shopgirl to model them for me. She's very pretty.

Anyway, chainmail is not nearly as relaxing for me as sewing, so once these are used up, I'm not doing any more. I'm just happy to be able to get this stuff out of my house. The less I have to organize, the better.

As for sewing, I bought enough silk noil for three robes, spending a total of $61. Considering I'll probably sell these for a couple hundred each, I am very, very pleased. Assuming someone buys them, anyway. I am never optimistic on that front.

You want my leftover chainmail? I can't do the stuff any more and don't really have the inclination. It would get more stuff out of my garage. :)

Aaaack! :)

Let me see if this stuff sells first. If there's a demand, then yeah, I'll take what you have. :) Thank you! I don't really have the inclination either, but if it's going to bring in money, I'll work on it.

Is yours just rings, or is it in actual knitted pieces?
