Just keep going.

See how far you can make it.

don't lay down to "rest your eyes." That way leads to madness and a vampiric schedule.

I know, I know, but oh man... bed looks SO enticing.

Just a nap?

ARGH.

no nap!

this is like driving with someone at 4 in the morning... have to keep them talking to stay awake.

and when did it become 2:00?
Elletheletterelle on February 21st, 2006 09:01 am (UTC)
2:00? Are you on GMT? Here it's noon. And I'm going to lie down for a little bit... ;)

I actually did lie down around 9:30 and couldn't get to sleep. Weird.

it's weird... all my other comments around the interweb have the right time, but the ones here seem to be coming from 5 hours in the future.

no lying down. you must conquer the earth in the name of (some civilization)! :P

Are you on Civ IV or an earlier version? I have Civ IV, but haven't had a chance to really play it much.
Elletheletterelle on February 21st, 2006 09:03 am (UTC)
Civ III. I have to play it on the second-easiest level, or I get all frustrated. I hate it when other countries attack me. My favorite part is building all the improvements and watching my cities grow.

I got pretty good at Civ III, at least up through the middle levels. I'm not the Civ Deity that BK is, though! I haven't had a chance to get the hang of Civ IV yet.

Don't feel too bad. I once played Zeus: Master of Olympus for 36 hours straight, when I first finally figured it out.

O.O WHOA.

I think I did 12 hours straight on Final Fantasy VII once. That was a weird time in my life, and it's hard to remember some of it. :)

Sid and I have watched the sun set and then come up again more times than I can remember.

I'll share a story of one time I was enveloped in game addiction. I was house-sitting for a friend and he had a PC (I didn't own one), so I bought a new game for the occasion. X-Com: UFO Defense. I loved it.

I stayed up all night playing it, then all day, then around 1 AM that night I suddenly realized that I *really* had to use the bathroom. Apparently I'd needed to for hours and hours, but I just couldn't tear myself away from the game long enough to pee. At this point I was in severe pain, so I did it. Then I realized I was bone dry and starving - having not eaten or drank anything for about a day. So I bolted to the drive-up at Jack-in-the-Box, scarfed my food on the way back to the house, and hurried back to the computer again. I eventually went to sleep around dawn that day.
