Bits of randomness
1. farwing - stakebait is starting up an online zine for urban fantasy. You may want to submit some of your stuff to her. I'm trying to come up with an interesting urban fantasy plot, but no luck so far.

2. I get to see thirdsouthobbi on Saturday! Squee! We shall eat turkey and drink eggnog and give presents, and all will be lovely. :)

3. boadiccea and nixieq - Since I'm so far out of the loop, can you post when they're doing Chiar0ke again? I will bestir myself and dress up and go!

4. To do today- finish princess dress, make princess hat, fix the part of the quilt that came apart. To do tomorrow- finish sewing and fusing art quilt top. To do Wednesday- quilt art quilt.

5. It's cold today. Wind chill is driving temps below zero F. I made it to work in a short skirt and mid-calf-length coat-- forgot hat, scarf, gloves. It was unpleasant, but not unbearable. Does this mean I can handle Canadian cold?

6. Current financial projections show that by this time next year, I will have my one credit card paid off. All others have been paid and canceled, thanks to my 401k loan. The plan is to save $3000 next year, $6000 the year after. I'd like to buy my Canadian land sometime in 2006 if possible.

7. To finance this, I need to start being frugal. Starting in January, I'll be bringing my lunch rather than buying it. I'm declaring a three-month moratorium on fabric purchasing. I have enough to last for at least a year's worth of projects. We rarely eat out or go to movies. What other suggestion do y'all have for saving money?

8. I've been kinda bearish on the OC this season, until I saw the last two episodes. My God, they rocked. Lindsay is awesome. Family dynamics were fantastic. And we see nervous!Ryan again! "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to impose..." *cries* I missed you, nervous!Ryan! And GoodDad!Sandy. "Oh, kid, this is so far from being your fault." Love love love. I love my show. And now to capture and edit the eps, and burn them to DVD.

9. Saw "The Butterfly Effect" this weekend. It was odd, in the way Donnie Darko is odd, but not as odd as Donnie Darko. I liked it. Even if you normally don't like Ashton Kutcher, it's a good movie, with some neat visual tricks. Watch the director's cut, as it gives you more backstory.

10. Tonight I am going to bed early. I am not going to hang out on the computer hoping to catch people. That way lies sleep loss, and decreased resistance to germs, and eventual coughing, hacking, and spitting up stuff better not described. Tonight I will sleep.

I am THERE.

Now to figure out if I have any club clothes left. It's been so long. Where is Chiar0scuro anyway? I've never been. *is ashamed*

Do you remember the Edge nightclub? There. Same block as Nation. :)

Yeah, I saw stakebait's posts on that. I'm not really there yet, but I am keeping her zine in mind.

Okay, I wasn't sure if you read her LJ. :) I'm looking forward to your novel after reading so much about it. Are you going to let your flist read it?

I really should start writing again.

Despite the fact that I talk about my writing all the time, I'm actually kind of shy about it. Plus, I'm so lazy lately I sometimes wonder if I'll ever finish what I'm working on. I have so many projects in various stages of completion, and I keep avoiding it all. Except that I spent a great deal of time thinking about what I'm not working on. *snort* I figure once I'm happy with my novel thingy then I'll let people on my flist read some of it.

Yes! Writing sucks sometimes, but having written feels great.

Heh. I'm not really there yet either. Must to make the numbers work out first, plus mom's got reconstructive surgery. Will call for subs when ready -- likely May at the earliest. Just getting the planning done now 'cause it gives me something to look forward to.

P.S. Right now your suggestion is winning in the poll!

I salute your upcoming thriftaliciousness. My constant source of thrift inspiration is Amy Dacyzyn's "The Tightwad Gazette", available in a collected omnibus as a book. It will be a very money-saving $20 that you spend on the book. Or you can get it from the library and be even cheaper.
