God watches out for fools
I found out this week that MS Outlook never sent in my application to that job I want so badly.

I'm so relieved.

In the last week and a half, I've heard discussions among people at work about the cover letters they receive, and the apparent inability of applicants to show how their skills match the position. I reread my cover letter when I found it, and dude, it was terrible. I was on crack, I think.

So I just spent an hour rewriting it, and sent the package in. Thank God it never went out the first time. I think I have a much better shot now.

Also, potential part-time gig at a community college under the University umbrella. With that plus what I'm doing now, I'd be close to full-time. *crosses fingers*

I feel that cover letters are amazingly important. They can really point out why you should get the job.

Good luck with both jobs.

I think I've gotten every interview ever on the strength of my cover letters.
