I wanted that nifty portable solar generator that cost around $1000. But this is way better. Build Your Own Solar Power Generator for $250-300. Rock on. Rob, maybe we can have a couple of these? That should take care of power in the garage, once we get those tree limbs cut back. And once we get a garage.

Here is how he maximizes his solar panel. Any of the engineering types here know if this is okay or not?

Oh, the solar-panel optimization thing would work...provided that the wind never, ever blows where you live.

Good point. Maybe if I build it a structure? Bolt the mirrors in place? Hmmm.

As long as the panel doesn't get too hot, the reflectors should be fine. He says he used a high temperature panel.
