Dammit, still sick. I decided to avoid food entirely today. Not entirely successfully-- I had a packet of soy crisps, but that's been it. I drank a real Coke because that's supposed to be good for nausea, and it seems to have worked. Plus, it was delicious.

Am studying for the bar. 5 weeks left, y'all, and there are 2 subjects (Torts and Con Law) that I haven't even touched. Fuck. I have to get down to business. I'm starting to have panicky law school dreams, and that's just never good.

Job situation is also frustrating. They have to get approval to hire me from the new dean, and it is taking a long long time. That's just for hiring me for *part-time* work. HAAAATE.

My car is still in the shop. The exhaust system is almost entirely rusted out and needs replacing. I want to trade it in for a diesel Jetta, but I can't until it's working again. And I have to get it painted, because it has a primer door, and nothing screams class like check-out-my-door-that's-not-the-same-color-as-the-rest-of-the-car. The Honda has 50,000 miles on it, which is damn good for a 7 year old car, and I want to get the highest trade-in possible. I can get the Jetta for $13,000, and I should be able to get $7000 for my car, and thus be able to pay off the Jetta in a year.

For now, I'm driving Mom's old Lexus, which makes me slightly nervous, because 1) it's bigger and boatier than my little Honda, and 2) dude, my neighborhood is on the way up, but stuff still gets stolen from time to time. No garage means no place to hide an expensive car, even if said expensive car is almost 12 years old.

Mom is in Cali with my sister K, who is about to give birth. That is just so weird, in my mind. She was my baby sister, and now she's having a baby, which I know is the most natural thing in the world, but it strikes me as profoundly strange and unnatural.

I keep feeling like I've been reasonably happy for too long, and that things are about to crash. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Good luck for the baby sister's baby, dude.

And on an entirely random note, I fin dit interesting that you can get $7k for a 7 year old Honda with 50k miles on the clock... SOunds like a lot!

Well, that's what the Blue Book says. It might end up being less, who knows? Argh. Okay. Not gonna worry about it till the bar is over.
