So. While I've been going through all my anxiety/panic craziness, we've been having a new kitchen installed. Nothing like being woken up every half-hour while you're desperately trying to sleep so you can get away from your own insanity.

But the kitchen is gonna be GORGEOUS. Just in time for us to move, sadly, but someday, our new house will have an even better kitchen. And it will all run on solar power.

As soon as I have a few thousand saved, I want to trade in my Civic and get a used VW Jetta diesel.

I'm so cold. We keep the house at 67, which doesn't sound like it should be cold, but the difference between 67 and 70 is HUGE. I'm always cold. But we're trying to save energy. Save money. I am going to be a freakin' miser from now on. I actually enjoyed going through the Bed Bath and Beyond circular I got in the mail today, and realizing I didn't need a thing they were trying to sell me. "I don't need THAT, and I don't need THAT..."

Window shopping might actually be fun for me now. I never liked it before, because I wanted all the stuff and couldn't have it. Now I can window shop and feel pleased that I'm not spending money. I could see all the things I don't need. :)

Another thing-- I've stopped swearing. Not sure why. I just don't feel that it's necessary except in extreme circumstances. Weird.

I can't wait to move. I want a new start. I can't think far enough ahead to what I'll do once I do move, though. Right now my brain is either in "now" mode or "what happens if" mode. I'm trying to stay in "now" mode as much as possible.

I had chocolate soy milk today, for the first time. It was yummy. I've found a new friend, and it is soy milk. Will have to try rice milk next.

I can't believe I've been off caffeine this long. It's been 3 weeks. I don't miss it, but then I'm getting far more sleep than I used to (10 hours at night, 2-3 hour nap during the day) so I don't need it to keep me awake. I had switched to Sprite, hoping I could still enjoy the carbonation, but the sugar triggered a couple attacks, so no more sugar for me. I'm drinking water, mostly, which is why I enjoyed that soy milk so much. I bought some unsweetened grape juice, but haven't had any yet.

Soy milk is YUMMY! Vanilla is my favorite.

We stopped spending money on crap when E. quit his job and I started mine, since it meant a household salary decrease of something like $80k. I'm so not even tempted by stuff now. And thinking about moving makes it even worse. I do go treat myself every now and then to something new, but even then it's usually utilitarian like the new sports bra I bought myself last week. (But what a treat to walk into a nice lingerie shop and get fitted for it! What a treat to try several on and make a choice!)

It's all about economic priorities. To save even more money, work on sealing any holes in your house. We've been doing that the whole time we've been living here and we use dramatically less energy each winter because of it.

Hello my dear! This is your capfreaks friend in PA. A friend just convinced me to get an LJ login this week though I'm on diaryland myself, so I have been poking about to see who else I know with journals here.

Sending much love and good vibes your way. And any and everywhere you live, much happy to you both. You deserve it.

Let me know if you're game for a night of some muppets, giggles and a coupla gallons of chocolate soy milk (I'm hooked myself YUM). :)I'll be down in a heartbeat.
