Rob and I rented a storage compartment yesterday and moved some of the packed boxes into it. Mostly books, some fabric. We'll be doing that every day this week until the house is uncluttered and ready to be shown. It's going to make cleaning a hell of a lot easier.

17 working days until I'm out of here. CANNOT WAIT. I will be able to sleep as much as I need, and get everything organized and clean and perfect. Normally I'm content to live in chaos, but I want to get this house over and done with and move to my beautiful new house. In a town where I already know the major roads, know the shortcuts, know where everything is and can look out the window and know I'm home.

The weather continues hot and sticky, which I'm going to have to suck up and deal with, as it's going to be the same in Florida, just not break until November or so. I'm pretty sure I can deal. I dealt for many years. I will miss seasons, but I'm hoping the horrible sickness I get twice a year will fade or disappear.

(Does anyone else get sick when the seasons change? When summer turns to fall, and when winter turns to spring, I go through a couple days where I feel nauseous and weak. I can hardly move. I don't know what it is, but I hate it.)

I slipped on the stairs about nine days ago and fell smack on my tailbone. I already have tailbone problems (I have a vertebra out of line), and this has really exacerbated them. I bought a squishy pillow that's under my thighs so I can actually sit down and keep my tailbone off the chair. This causes me to sit very high, and it looks weird. I hope this pain goes away, because it's aggravating and incredibly inconvenient.

I want to make a beach dress. It will be of white or natural cotton, with a halter that ties at the back of the neck, no back, and a full circle skirt. I can wear it on the beach and look beautiful and cool, and reveal no leg. Unfortunately, my mom won't like it if I wear it at her beach condo, because it'll expose my giant tattoo, and People will Talk. Bleh. I don't care if they do, but she does.

My youngest sister is getting married January 8, and I will likely have to wear a strapless bridesmaid dress. My mom is already panicking about the tattoo. I don't care, Jeni (my sister) doesn't care, but gah. I already told Mom I'd get some Dermablend to cover it. Jeeeeez.

I had another pregnancy dream. This time I wasn't so freaked out about the actual pregnancy so much as the thought of another person being in our family, and having to raise that person. *freak freak freak* I do not want to be a mother.

I would like to just get up and walk out of my job right now. But I have to wait. Not much longer...

If your sister, who's wedding it is, doesn't care about your tattoo what makes you need to cover it up?

It sort of depends on how much noise her mother's likely to make...

Because it causes my mother much angst. She hates tattoos far more than piercings. She handled Jeni's tongue piercing without much difficulty, but my tattoo made her cry for days. Argh.

The wedding is in our hometown, with all her friends and stuff, and it'll humiliate her to have people see me with a tattoo peeking out of the top of my dress. I could make a big deal out of it, but frankly, it's not that much of an issue to me, and it is to her, so it doesn't take much to give in on that.

She does admit that the tattoo is pretty, which is a huge step for her. But she's begged me not to get any more. I don't want any more, so that's fine. :)

I really do need to post a picture of the tattoo.

I remember the discussion we had at Christmas about tattoos... That was interesting, LOL. I think your tattoo is lovely. :)

Crow: You think everything is a strapless bridesmaid dress!
Elletheletterelle on June 14th, 2005 10:47 am (UTC)
LOL!

Mike: I like Noh theater.

So you don't like any theater at all?

Ah, the exchange of MSTie quotes...brings me back....

hehe. My friend/former teacher had a lovely dragon tattoo on her back. Her gorgeous, handmade wedding gown had a draped back that allowed the dragon to peek out from behind the draped fabric. Her mother pitched quite a fit about it before, during and after the wedding. Frankly, that drew way more attention to the tattoo than there would have been otherwise.

The pregnancy dreams might be more metaphorical than an actual human. You're working on a big lifechange, and maybe it has to do with that?

I already told Mom I'd get some Dermablend to cover it.

Bear in mind a few things:
1) dermablend is expensive
2) it takes a lot of work to get it to look right
3) with fair skin, step 2 is a lot harder

Other than that, good luck.

(Btw, on the topic of random things, I never got the books. Did you ship them yet?)
