I'm not as excited as that sounds. :) Rob and I stayed home, watched movies (Trapped, The Village, Unbreakable) and I sewed on my sweeeeeeeet new sewing machine. I'm almost done with the quilt top that will be the quilt in the guest room. I started it a year and a bit ago, haven't done much on it in a while. I'm trying to clear out old projects before I start new ones. And this one is so pretty.

Here is how losery we are. We got hungry around 11 and drove around trying to find someplace that was open. The ONLY place was Taco Bell. Seriously. McD's closed, BK closed, Pizza Hut closed, everything closed. We were part of a line of 8 cars at the Taco Bell drivethrough. Because they were the ONLY ONES OPEN. We are such l00sers. Ha ha ha. It's okay, I'd rather be lame with Rob than stylin with anyone else.

Since we had Mexican (hah!) food, I am now on my second margarita. I'm a little bit drunk. Blee.

People have been setting off firecrackers all night. But there were sounds that sounded suspiciously like gunshots at midnight. It's really sdumb to shoot off your gun in celebration. A gun is to kill things.

I hope this year is better for everyone. 2005 was not a great year. Let's hope 2006 holds better things in store.

Hee, that's more exciting than my night. The highpoints were transferring all my computer stuff to the new hard-drive and the Monty Python marathon after my nephews fell asleep (and I could finally turn off the Scoopydoo marathon).

Happy New Years, sweetie! This year will be better than the last.

God, I hope so. This year, I had a breakdown, a good friend died, my sister's fiance left her two months before the wedding, and my other sister (yesterday, right under the wire) miscarried the twins she was carrying.

2005 is dead. Long live 2006.

Oh, and I am good with dinner on the 14th. My place?

Can we make it the 15th? I'll need that last day to get my application in.

YES! We must see new house.

15th is cool. :) We may even have a table by then! Whee!

What would you like to eat?
Mary Lewysmlewys on January 2nd, 2006 05:06 pm (UTC)
Whatever you like to cook! We are not fussy eaters in the least!

Mine wasn't exciting either. I'd hoped to see the New Year in, but went to nap and woke up after the fireworks began. Taco Bell? Ugh. ;-)

Here in L.A., we've been telling the people in the projects to QUIT SHOOTING GUNS INTO THE AIR for years. I think there's been progress, but some of the damned fools still do it.

Happy New Year, and yes, let's hope it's a better year. At least this time there was no damned tsunami.

What IS it with the firecrackers? They were going off all last night. Must be a Florida thing!

Here's hoping for a better, healthier 2006. Oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I would give my right arm for some Taco Bell right now. 3 soft tacos and a nacho please! Yum.
