Democratic bloggers have put together a blueprint for US energy security. Called "Energize America," the document is a proposal for a national program to replace 20% of US oil and natural gas imports with American-made renewable energy sources by the year 2020. This isn't just a "hey, wouldn't it be nice" document, but one with clear ideas and specific proposals. It will be presented to leaders of the Democratic party at the YearlyKos conference in 2006 (Harry Reid, for one, is scheduled to attend). If the Democrats take control of this issue, it could be a strong pillar in their platform for the 2006 and 2008 elections.
