We can dance if we want to
Everybody look at your hands!

It's late, and I'm listening to the final song on my 80s playlist, which is over 7 hours long. Awesome.

I applied for another job online tonight. Public reference librarian, next county over. Hey, it's a job, and though the pay isn't stellar, it's one I can do well, and be reasonably happy in. Also found another couple of jobs to apply for which, if I get past the screening, I can hopefully sweet-talk into considering me despite the fact I have no experience as such in those fields (junior editor of a magazine, and something else that I can't remember what it is, but is related somehow to writing.)

I just corrected a typo. I'm like Walter that way. 4:30, and I won't let a typo go.

Would anyone on my flist like a music post of lesser-known 80s music? Stuff that's not "Whip It" or "Come On Eileen" or "Heart of Glass"? I've been finding some good shit that I want to share.
I can hear: Men Without Hats, "Safety Dance"

Hee. I love that I have such the anal reputation for grammar. (And, dude, that sentence is totally weird and I think I just ruined my reputation. Damn.)

Anyway, yes please to lesser-known '80s music!

No worries - we only expect grammatical correctness from you when you're sober. It's almost 3 AM and we know the chances of you still being sober dropped to near-zero around 5 PM. ;)

I think that Kate usually got drunk at some point and flirted outrageously with one or more hunky guys when she did. So we can hardly hold it against you.

It's been at least six days since I've been drunk. God, that's so sad. I'm going to have to do something about that tomorrow with Maud (and I think I'm long overdue for a drunk post).

I also need way more hunky guys in my life.

What! I figure where you work is like being in a modelling agency for all the hot guys! Aren't dudes in that field known for their charm, wit, and smolderingly hot bodies? [I may base some of this on certain movies that I've seen.]
Waltermswalter on March 25th, 2006 03:13 am (UTC)
You know, actually, at my last job there really were a lot of hot guys. At least two of them totally had model-type looks, plus there were several older hotties. But the new place? Oh God, not so much. They're just...greasy and bad-haired and gross. The hottest guy there is someone I went to college with, and he really is very attractive, but he's also a total ass (and a lot of fun to hang out with).

Greasy is particularly unattractive.
"The hottest guy ... a total ass" -- Hmmm. I won't be shocked if we later hear of mad snogging one drunken evening after work. :)

I just looked at my 80s list of songs. For a second I thought about sharing my list with you -- then I looked through the 80s songs on my hard drive. I'd be way too ashamed to share the complete list.

Right now I'm listening the "Heart and Soul" by T'Pau. Next on my playlist is "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora.
Elletheletterelle on March 25th, 2006 07:25 pm (UTC)
Eeeee, T'Pau! I have that album! I need to rip all the songs from it. I have "Tarzan Boy," and I have "China in Your Hands" by T'Pau on my playlist.

You'll probably be familiar with the stuff I put up. But that doesn't mean it's not lesser-known. :)

I was in my early college days when the T'Pau album came out. I loved it. I had it on cassette and played it constantly on endless repeat on my Walkman. I used to sit in the lab programming for hours and hours listening to just that one album. My friends got tired up it just from the sound bleeding through from the headphones. :)

I graduated high school in 1986, so I'm a real 80s boy.

Song sharing is always good! :D And seeing that I know little to no 80s music, I'd love a music post! :)

Good luck on the job apps!

And sure, I'd love a music post!

ha! last night i was listening to that album, on cassette, no less. i found it extremely odd that an album entitled "pop goes the world" doesn't actually contain the title track.

Would anyone on my flist like a music post of lesser-known 80s music?

always! silly woman, do you even have to ask? >;)

good luck w/ the applications! keeping fingers and toes crossed for you.
