Things I found out today:

Frangipani (aka plumeria) grows well in Florida.

Cassava (aka tapioca) also grows well in Florida, and can be dried, ground into flour, and used to make gluten-free bread, biscuits, cookies, etc. The leaves can also be cooked and eaten for a source of protein and vitamin A.

Ederberry bushes/trees are native to Florida, and make excellent jelly and wine.

The silk floss tree grows well in Florida, and the silk contained in the seed pods can be used for stuffing in pillows.

I can't wait to have enough money to start getting plants.

Plants can be healthy and effective therapy. I'm willing to buy you some if you like. Working in the garden has done amazing things for fizzygeek's mood, and I'm happy to share the joy.
